MISSIONS
Elim Children’s
Center Day Care – Elim provides quality day care for 75 infants, toddlers and preschoolers every weekday from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM Director, Kim Scallon

House of Compassion
Soup Kitchen – First Wednesday of the month volunteers from Elim cook and serve an evening meal at the House of Compassion.
Quilting – Monday mornings from 9:00 – 11:00 AM our volunteers cut, sew and tie quilts for Lutheran World Relief.
Blessings Box-
New to Elim is our Blessings Box filled with essentials to assist our community. Located on the south side drive. Please take whatever you need!
Marshall County Jail and Newton Correctional Facility Prison Ministry
 Our volunteers conduct an annual Christmas party at the Marshall County Jail and the Newton Correctional Facility. Everyone enjoys singing Christmas carols. Cookies and punch are served. The inmates are given Christmas cards to send to their families. 
 
Emergency Food Box – We provide in kind donations of food staples that are delivered monthly to the Marshall County Emergency Food Box which shares our parking lot.
Stork’s Nest – Several times a year we conduct diaper drives for the Marshall County Stork’s Nest, An agency that encourages good pre-natal and baby care.
Radio Ministry – Our Sunday worship services are broadcast each week on KFJB – AM (1230 on the radio dial) at 11:05am.

CHRISTIAN EDUCATION OPPORTUNITIES

 Sunday School – for ages 2 through high school and beyond. Sunday mornings join us for children and adult Sunday School 10:30 – 11:30 AM from Labor Day to Memorial Day
 Confirmation – For 7th and 8th grade students, instruction in Luther’s Catechism and the Bible. Students are confirmed on Pentecost of the 8th grade year.

FELLOWSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

Sunday After Worship-
Every Sunday morning after worship the congregation enjoys treats in our fellowship hall.
 
WELCA -Women of the ELCA
Mobilizing women to act boldly on their faith in Jesus Christ. While many groups of Lutheran women might live out their faith in similar ways, the organization embraces all kinds of ministries that support our mission. By that we mean to say, there’s a place for you in Women of the ELCA. WELCA meets the 3rd Monday of every month at 4:30 p.m. March-October.
Active Retirees- Meet on the fourth Monday of each month for lunch and a program. Speakers are invited to talk about community programs and opportunities for outreach
Coffee & Conversation with Pastor Paul – Wednesday mornings 9:00AM – 11:00AM, our members gather for coffee and conversation with Pastor Paul at Elim.

MUSIC MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES

Chapel Choir –
Directed by Larry Pfantz, our adult vocal choir is small but powerful. They participate regularly in Sunday morning worship except when the Hand Bell Choir is playing. Rehearsals are Sunday morning at 8:00 a.m.
 Hand Bell Choir –
Directed by Larry Pfantz, the Hand Bell Choir is comprised of high school students and adults and participates in church once a month. Rehearsals are Sunday at 10:15 a.m.
 
 
 Marshalltown Men’s Chorus – Directed by Larry Pfantz, this community chorus rehearses weekly at Elim on Monday evening at 7 p.m. and performs around the surrounding community throughout the year.
